SurfMed Celebrates Partnership and Progress at the FAHP Conference

Every fall, health care leaders from across Florida gather to learn, exchange ideas, and strengthen the relationships that help move care forward. The annual Florida Association of Health Plans (FAHP) Conference and Trade Show brings together education, meaningful conversations, and the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces.

For more than a decade, SurfMed has proudly supported this gathering as an involved sponsor and partner. This year, our team continued that tradition by connecting with health plan leaders, discussing member needs, and sharing perspectives on the future of medical equipment and supplies.

Connecting Florida’s Health Care Leaders

The Florida Association of Health Plans is a statewide trade organization representing commercial health insurers, Medicaid managed care plans, and Medicare Advantage organizations. These health plans help businesses, individuals, and families across Florida access health care benefits and services.

FAHP advocates on public policy issues before state and federal lawmakers and regulatory agencies, including the Agency for Health Care Administration and the Office of Insurance Regulation. Its work also includes educating legislators, regulators, and the public about the role health plans play in managing costs, supporting health outcomes, and improving the consumer experience.

Just as importantly, FAHP creates opportunities for cooperation among health plans, medical providers, community organizations, and government agencies. Its annual conference provides a place for those relationships to grow through conversations about shared challenges and potential solutions.

Looking Ahead with the Medicaid Committee

SurfMed was proud to continue its sponsorship of the Medicaid Committee, supporting discussions about the needs of members and the future of care delivery.

This year, SurfMed CEO Jeff Rittenberg and our new Chief Operating Officer, Alexis Watine, addressed the committee. Their remarks explored the future of medical equipment and supplies and the importance of preparing for advances in technology.

As new tools and capabilities emerge, health plans and providers have an opportunity to consider how innovation can translate into practical support for members. Preparing for that future requires collaboration, thoughtful planning, and a clear understanding of the people who depend on these services.

For SurfMed, participating in these discussions is part of our commitment to helping our partners navigate change while keeping member needs at the center.

Meaningful Conversations, Lasting Relationships

Throughout the conference, our team welcomed the chance to catch up with longtime clients, reconnect with industry colleagues, and build new relationships.

Discussions covered priorities that affect health plans and providers every day, including fraud prevention, case manager support, and the implementation of artificial intelligence. These exchanges allowed us to hear different perspectives, better understand our partners’ challenges, and consider opportunities to strengthen how we work together.

The conference also offered something equally valuable: time to connect personally with the professionals behind the work. Those relationships help build trust and keep communication open long after the event ends.

A Partnership We Are Proud to Continue

SurfMed’s longstanding support of FAHP reflects our belief in the value of education, advocacy, and collaboration across Florida’s health care community.

We appreciate the opportunity to support the Medicaid Committee and contribute to conversations about what comes next. As member needs and technology continue to evolve, SurfMed remains committed to working alongside our partners to support responsive service, meaningful innovation, and access to essential medical equipment and supplies.
